About this policy
Revante is the trading name used for the UK online device buyback service operated by WE BUY BACK LTD. This policy applies when you visit www.revante.co.uk or use a Revante web feature that stores information on, or reads information from, your computer, telephone, tablet or another connected device.
It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is handled more generally, and our Terms & Conditions.
Revante will not deliberately load optional analytics, functionality or marketing cookies before the required choice has been made. Necessary technologies may operate without consent where the law permits this.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on a device by a website. It may contain an identifier, a preference or limited technical information that helps the site recognise the browser during one visit or on a later return.
A session cookie normally ends when the browser closes. A persistent cookie remains until its stated expiry date or until it is deleted. First-party cookies are set for Revante's domain; third-party cookies are provided by another organisation whose service appears on or supports the website.
Similar technologies can include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, scripts and device identifiers. This policy uses the word “cookies” for these technologies unless a distinction matters.
Why Revante uses cookies
- to keep the website, forms, quotations and order journeys secure and reliable;
- to remember the cookie choices made on the current browser;
- to maintain a requested quotation, order or tracking session;
- to prevent abuse, automated misuse, fraud and security threats;
- to understand website visits, navigation and technical performance where analytics permission has been given;
- to remember optional interface preferences where requested; and
- to measure a campaign or advertisement where marketing technology is enabled and consented to.
Cookies do not allow Revante to inspect photographs, contacts, messages or other personal content stored on the device you use to browse the website.
The four cookie categories
Strictly necessary
Required for security, consent records, sessions, load balancing and a service you actively request.
Functionality
Remembers optional preferences that make repeat visits more convenient but are not essential to the requested service.
Analytics
Measures visits, interactions, errors and performance so we can understand and improve the customer journey.
Marketing
Measures campaigns or manages advertising where such tools are activated. Revante does not need these to value a device.
“Strictly necessary” is interpreted narrowly. A technology is not treated as necessary merely because it is useful to Revante or makes reporting more convenient.
Cookie and storage inventory
The entries below describe the technologies expected in Revante's launch setup. A particular cookie will only appear where its associated feature is active. Names containing an identifier may vary by configuration.

Revante will review the production website before launch and after material tag changes so the public inventory matches what is actually deployed.
Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica
Google Analytics 4
Revante may use Google Analytics 4 to measure pages visited, traffic sources, general interactions, device and browser characteristics, approximate location and technical performance. Revante should configure it to avoid deliberately sending names, email addresses, telephone numbers, full postal addresses, bank details, IMEI numbers or serial numbers.
Yandex Metrica
Revante may use Yandex Metrica to understand traffic, navigation, interaction and site performance. Advanced features such as session replay must remain disabled unless they have been specifically assessed, transparently explained and placed behind the appropriate consent control. Sensitive form fields and order information must not be captured.
Both tools belong to the analytics category and should remain blocked until analytics consent is recorded. Rejecting analytics does not prevent a customer requesting a price or creating an order.
Tag management, pixels and local storage
Revante may use Google Tag Manager or a comparable tag manager to organise approved website scripts. A tag manager does not automatically make every tag lawful: each tool it deploys must follow the customer's current consent choice.
Pixels and tags can record that a page loaded or an action occurred. Local or session storage can retain a setting in the browser without using a traditional cookie. The same transparency and consent rules are applied where these technologies store or access information on a device.
First-party and third-party services
Revante controls first-party technologies created for its own quotation, consent, security and customer journeys. Providers such as Cloudflare, Google and Yandex may place or read their own technologies when their services are enabled.
The website may also link to PayPal, social networks, delivery providers or other external services. Merely displaying an ordinary link does not require Revante to set that provider's cookie. Once you open an external website, its own cookie and privacy arrangements apply.
Revante does not use affiliate tracking cookies in the same way as Compare A Price because Revante is a direct device-buyback service rather than a price-comparison referral platform.
Consent and changing your choices
When consent is required, Revante will ask through a cookie banner or preference centre before the relevant optional technology loads. Accepting and rejecting optional cookies should be equally clear. Continuing to browse is not treated as consent.
You can accept all optional categories, reject them, or choose individual categories. Withdrawing consent does not affect use that was lawful before withdrawal, but the affected tools should stop on future pages once the updated choice is applied.
Use the cookie controls on this page. Clearing browser storage may remove the saved choice, in which case Revante may ask again on a later visit.
Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies; block third-party cookies; clear data when the browser closes; or use a private browsing mode. The exact controls depend on the browser and device.
Blocking optional cookies should not stop ordinary browsing. Blocking all cookies or all browser storage may prevent a consent choice, secure session, quotation progress, order form or tracking feature from being remembered.
A browser “Do Not Track” signal does not currently have one universally applied technical standard. Revante therefore uses the preference centre as the clearest record of a visitor's current choice.
Information connected with cookies
Depending on the permitted tool, cookie-related information may include a browser or device identifier, IP address, approximate area, operating system, browser type, referring website, pages visited, buttons selected, timestamps, general navigation, errors and performance measurements.
Revante uses necessary information to provide and protect the requested service. Where analytics or marketing information is personal data, Revante relies on the consent collected for the related technology and handles that information as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Cookie information must not be deliberately combined with customer order data to build an unrelated advertising profile. Revante does not sell cookie-derived personal information.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection rules require safeguards, Revante will use an applicable adequacy regulation, approved contractual protections or another lawful transfer mechanism and will assess the provider and transfer as appropriate.

How long cookies remain
Session technologies normally expire when the browsing session finishes. Persistent technologies remain until their configured expiry or until they are deleted. A provider may refresh an expiry when the browser returns, depending on its configuration.
Revante aims to use the shortest practical duration for the stated purpose. The inventory gives typical maximum periods, but browser settings, provider changes and the precise production configuration can affect the actual lifetime.
Cookie lifespan is different from the retention of analytics reports or other personal data held on a provider's servers. Server-side retention is governed by configured account settings and the Privacy Policy.
Audits and changes to this policy
Revante may update this policy when website features, consent arrangements, cookie names, providers, durations or legal requirements change. The date at the top will show when the public policy was last revised.
A material new optional purpose will not be treated as covered merely because a visitor agreed to a different purpose in the past. Revante will request a fresh choice where required.
The production website should be scanned and manually reviewed at launch and periodically afterwards so the preference centre, deployed tags and published inventory stay aligned.
