About Revante
Revante is the trading name used for the online device buyback service operated by WE BUY BACK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16713774.
Our registered office is 11 The Crofts, Rotherham, England, S60 2DJ. This is a correspondence address and not a public customer drop-off point. Our VAT number is 502 8846 88.
In these terms, “Revante”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean WE BUY BACK LTD. “You” and “your” mean the person or business using the website or offering a device for sale.
Using our website and service
By using the website you agree to use it lawfully. By submitting a sell order, you ask us to assess the device described in that order under these terms. Please save or print a copy for your records.
A website quotation is not a purchase by Revante and an order confirmation is only acknowledgement that we have received your details. A binding sale is completed only as explained in the contract and ownership section of these terms.
Who may sell to Revante
You must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering into a contract and resident in the United Kingdom. If you act for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business and dispose of its devices.
We may ask for reasonable identity, address, ownership or payment verification before completing an order. We may refuse or pause an order where required information cannot be verified.
Your ownership and authority
You confirm that you own every device you send, have full authority to sell it and can transfer good title to Revante. It must not be stolen, counterfeit, subject to hire purchase, finance, a security interest or another person's claim.
The device must not be reported lost, blocked or obtained unlawfully. If any ownership or status concern arises, we may pause the order, request evidence and take any action required by law.
Quotations and prices
A quotation is calculated from the information you provide, including the device model, storage or specification, network status, condition and any other question shown during the order process. You are responsible for selecting accurate details.
Prices may change before an order is completed because device values and market demand change. Once you complete an order, the quoted price is held for 14 calendar days. The device must be delivered to us within that period.
If it arrives after 14 days, we may apply the current price. If that price is lower, we will tell you and allow you to review it before the sale completes.
If the device arrives within the quotation period and matches the model, specification, network, condition and other details submitted, we will pay the quoted price.
Creating and managing an order
Please check the customer, device, postage and payment details before submitting an order. You must use your own accurate contact information and a payment method you are authorised to receive money through.
Each order receives a reference. Use that reference on the parcel and when contacting us. Do not send a device without first creating an order or send it to our registered office unless your order instructions expressly tell you to do so.
If the device received is not the device registered, we will identify it as far as reasonably possible and assess it against the correct product details. This may lead to a revised offer or a return.
When the sale contract is formed
Website prices are invitations for you to make an offer to sell. Submitting an order and our confirmation of it do not mean that Revante has purchased the device. Receiving or inspecting the device does not transfer ownership to us.
Where the inspection matches the order, the sale contract is completed when we issue payment at the quoted price. Where we make a revised offer, you must first accept that offer and the sale completes when we issue the agreed payment.
Legal ownership and title pass to Revante when payment is issued. After that point the sale cannot normally be reversed and we are not required to return the device.
Preparing your device and protecting your data
Before posting, back up anything you wish to keep, sign out of personal and business accounts, remove SIM and memory cards, disconnect paired devices and complete an appropriate factory reset. Check afterwards that your personal content is no longer visible.
Remove every screen passcode, firmware password, mobile-device management restriction, iCloud or Apple Activation Lock, Samsung account lock, Google Factory Reset Protection lock and any similar security or ownership control. Do not send us a password, passcode, recovery key or authentication code.
You remain responsible for backing up and removing your data before dispatch. Where a device is accessible and the order can proceed, Revante may carry out a further controlled data-wipe process; this does not replace your responsibility to erase it first. Our handling of personal information is explained in ourPrivacy Policy and GDPR & Data Protection Policy.
Free postage, packaging and delivery
Eligible UK orders can use the free tracked postage option provided with the order. Use only the label and instructions linked to that order. Pack each device securely, protect it against movement and impact, and comply with the carrier's rules, particularly for lithium batteries.
Keep your proof of postage and tracking information until the order is complete. The free service may carry a compensation limit. If the device is worth more than that limit, you should consider purchasing a suitable insured service.
A parcel remains at your risk until tracking confirms delivery to Revante or our nominated receiving facility. We will reasonably assist with a carrier enquiry where our prepaid service was used correctly, but any loss or damage claim is subject to the carrier's terms and applicable compensation limit.
Receipt and order registration
After delivery, we match the parcel to its order and register the device within the Aevum Recycling System used by our operation. We may record the IMEI, serial number, model, specification and package contents.
We may also take photographs or video of the parcel, device and inspection findings. These records help maintain traceability, support a fair grading decision, investigate discrepancies and protect both you and Revante.
Carrier delivery confirmation does not necessarily mean that inspection has begun. Processing times can vary during busy periods, where an order contains several devices or where additional verification is needed.
IMEI, serial and device-status checks
We may screen device identifiers through CheckMEND and other reasonable sources to review whether a device is reported lost, stolen, blocked, subject to an insurance claim or associated with another status concern.
If a concern is identified, we may pause payment, quarantine the device, request evidence of ownership and contact the relevant network, insurer, finance provider, police or other authority where appropriate. We will return or otherwise deal with the device only where lawful.
A clear status check at inspection does not remove your continuing promise that the device is lawfully owned and free from claims. If it is later blocked or reported lost or stolen, we may seek repayment and exercise our legal rights.
Inspection and testing
Our technicians compare the device with the submitted order. Checks may cover identity, storage, colour, network, activation status, cosmetic condition, screen, battery, charging, cameras, sound, microphones, buttons, connectivity, sensors, biometrics and other functions relevant to that type of device.
Testing may require us to power on, charge, reset, update or otherwise operate the device in a reasonable way. Some faults are intermittent or only become visible during testing. The final grade is based on the device as received and the evidence available during inspection.
Mobile phones, tablets, laptops and smart watches require different checks. Full details of our approach appear on the How We Grade Devices page, which forms part of the grading information for your order.
Revante device conditions
Brand New
Unused and unopened in its original factory-sealed box, with all original accessories included and no damage.
Very Good
Fully working and in excellent condition, with no signs of use and no cracks or major damage.
Average
Fully working with visible scratches, scuffs or small cosmetic marks from regular use, but no serious physical damage.
Damaged
Cracks, heavy wear, physical damage or one or more functional faults, subject to final inspection and testing.
Selecting Damaged does not mean every type of damage or fault has the same value. A device that is crushed, incomplete, unsafe, counterfeit, account-locked or beyond economical recovery may receive a different value or may not be purchasable.
Network, specification, batteries and parts
O2, Vodafone, EE, Three and Unlocked mobile devices may have different prices. Choose Unlocked only where the device can accept compatible SIMs from different networks and is not restricted to one provider.
Storage, processor, memory, screen size, regional specification, battery condition and whether parts are genuine can also affect value. A service message, non-genuine or unverified component, material battery issue or undisclosed repair may lead to a different grade or revised offer.
Only send a charger, cable, stylus, box or other accessory where the order or chosen condition requires it. Items not requested may not add value and may not be returned separately.
Revised offers
If the model, specification, network, condition, function, security status or included items differ from the order, we may send a revised offer. We will identify the material reason and show the new amount.
You can accept or decline within the response period stated in the order update. We will not treat silence alone as acceptance of a reduced price. If you accept, we will approve the order at the revised amount and arrange payment.
If you decline, you may request the device back using the return option shown in the update. Any return or special handling charge that could apply will be disclosed before you decide; we will not make an undisclosed deduction from the device value.
Where we do not receive a response, we may send reminders and place the order on hold. If it remains unresolved after reasonable notice, we may return the device to the address on the order and recover only reasonable, previously disclosed costs where permitted by law.
Payment
Payment is normally issued within 24–48 hours after inspection has been completed and the order approved. Weekends, bank holidays, verification, higher order volumes and matters beyond our reasonable control may extend this time.
Available methods may include bank transfer, PayPal and cheque. The options shown during the order apply to that sale. Arrival times vary by bank or provider, and cheques require delivery and clearance.
We may withhold payment while we verify ownership, identity, device status, payment information or suspected fraud. We will not be responsible for delay caused by inaccurate details you provide or a payment provider's processing time.
Correct payment details
Check all bank, PayPal, payee and postal details carefully. You must be authorised to use the chosen account and we may require the seller and recipient details to match for security.
Contact us immediately if you discover an error. Once money has been correctly sent to the details supplied, or a cheque has been dispatched, recovery or reissue may depend on the bank, payment provider or postal process and may not be possible.
You are responsible for any fee charged directly by your bank or payment provider unless we expressly agree otherwise.
Cancellation and returns before payment
You can cancel an unposted order through the available order or support route. If the device has already been posted, contact us promptly. We will try to stop processing, but inspection may already have started.
Before payment is issued, you may reject a revised offer and request return in accordance with clause 15. A return will be sent only to a verified UK address using the method stated in the order update.
After payment has been issued and ownership has passed to Revante, you do not have a contractual right to cancel or recover the device. Nothing in these terms removes any non-excludable right you may have under applicable law.
Returned devices and unclaimed orders
A returned device may show reasonable evidence of inspection, charging, testing, software reset or removal from packaging. We will take reasonable care while it is in our possession, but we cannot restore data, settings, seals or software that were altered as a necessary part of the inspection.
Boxes and requested accessories received with a returned device will be included where reasonably identifiable and available. SIM cards and memory cards should never be sent and may be securely destroyed rather than returned.
If a return cannot be delivered or an order remains unclaimed, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you. We will not treat a device as abandoned or dispose of it without reasonable notice and a lawful basis.
Devices we cannot purchase normally
We may refuse, hold or return a device that is counterfeit, stolen, lost, blocked, subject to finance or another claim, unlawfully obtained, materially altered, unsafe to handle, contaminated, swollen, leaking, fire-damaged or prohibited by a carrier or applicable law.
We may also be unable to purchase a device that is account locked, cannot be identified, has a removed or altered serial number, contains prohibited content, or cannot be safely tested or transported.
Where suspected crime, fraud, theft or unlawful status is involved, we may retain evidence and cooperate with the police, network, insurer, finance provider or other relevant body. No payment is due unless and until we are legally satisfied that the sale can proceed.
SIM cards, memory cards and unrequested items
Remove SIM cards, eSIM associations where appropriate, memory cards, cases and personal accessories before posting. We accept no responsibility for mobile charges or account activity connected with a SIM or service left active by you.
For privacy and security, removable storage or SIM cards found in a parcel may be securely destroyed. Unrequested packaging, low-value accessories or unrelated items may be recycled and cannot always be identified or returned.
Business, trade and multi-device sellers
If you sell in the course of business, you confirm that you have authority to act, have completed any required internal asset disposal process and can provide a valid invoice or other supporting record where requested.
Business sellers are responsible for VAT treatment, records and all information supplied about the devices. Consumer-only legal rights do not apply to a business sale. A separate written trade agreement, bulk quotation or purchase order takes priority over these terms where it expressly says so.
Communications and personal information
We may contact you by email, telephone, SMS or through the order status service about quotations, delivery, inspection, revised offers, verification, returns and payment. Keep your contact details current and check filtered or junk folders.
Service messages are necessary to manage your order and are separate from optional marketing. We use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR & Data Protection Policy. Cookie use is explained in our Cookie Policy.
Website availability and intellectual property
We aim to keep the website accurate and available, but access may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, security, technical problems or events beyond our control. We may improve or change the website and service without guaranteeing that every feature will always be available.
The Revante name, website design, text, graphics, software and other material are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual-property law. You may view or print reasonable extracts for personal use, but may not copy, scrape, republish, sell, reverse engineer or misuse the website.
Links to third-party services are provided for convenience. We do not control their content or availability, and their own terms apply when you use them.
Liability and your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing affects your statutory rights.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, was caused by inaccurate information or your breach, or is a business loss.
If you are a business seller, subject to liabilities that cannot be limited by law, we will not be liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, goodwill or indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability relating to a device or order will not exceed the higher of the final agreed value of that order or the amount recoverable under any applicable carrier or insurance cover.
Changes, transfer and general legal terms
We may update these terms where our service, technology, law or regulatory responsibilities change. The terms accepted when you submit an order will normally govern that order unless a change is required by law or you agree otherwise.
You may not transfer an order or your rights under it without our written agreement. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation, but only where this does not reduce your rights.
If a court finds part of these terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. No person other than you and Revante has a right to enforce these terms.
Governing law, complaints and contact
These terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live and retain any mandatory local protections.
If something has gone wrong, contact us first with your order reference and a clear explanation. We will review the order record and try to resolve the matter fairly.
